Nightmares

Nightmares was released on DVD August 24, 1999 and was directed by Joseph Sargent. Nightmares tells about 4 stories, much like films such as Creepshow and Tales From The Darkside: The Movie. As far as i know, this is the only DVD release this movie has gotten so far. Its definitely out of print and very rare! I haven't seen sellers selling this for under $50. And i have seen it going for as much as $200! So good luck snagging one of these! I also suggest trying to see this, its a very good set of scary tales!

Popcorn

Popcorn was released on DVD September 4, 2001. Directed by Alan Ormsby and Mark Herrier. And stars Jill Schoelen. Popcorn was released by Elite Entertainment and is out of print and VERY rare! I found one seller selling this used for as much as $200! And a couple of other sellers were selling this for $100 to $115. Other then that it seemed to average from $50 to $70. However much more used copies of it were averaging around $40. So if you have this already then great job and keep it protected! Otherwise, Happy Hunting!

Boggy Creek 2

Boggy Creek 2 was released on DVD August 9, 2005 By Elite Entertainment. Boggy Creek 2 has been released on DVD at least a couple of times that i know of. But the one you want is by Elite Entertainment. Boggy Creek 2 seems to be going for a steady $50 from what i have seen from sellers. So if you have this one already, CONGRATS! Birth Rite

Birth Rite was directed by Devin Hamilton and released July 22, 2003. It stars Natalie Sutherland, Danny Wolske, Laura Nativo, Brinke Stevens and Larry Dirk. This DVD was released by Shadow Entertainment, its also out of print now. Not exactly sure whats so special about this film but its going for around $60 for brand new mint editions of the DVD. However you can get it much cheaper used. I have not yet found any sellers selling this used for any outrageous prices as of yet. But we have to remember that not everyone is aware of some DVDs values, which like i always say that is the perfect time to snag up a copy before they do go up. So Happy Hunting!

Dead Of Night

Dead of Night was directed by Simon Hunter. A British horror film. This was originally called Lighthouse. But when it was finally picked up by a U.S. distributor it was changed to Dead Of Night. Its been overlooked by many and very underrated. This was released on DVD May 30, 2000. Its out of print and definitely a collectible. The many prices i have seen sellers selling this are averaging $100. One i saw was $139. And also i came across a double feature DVD with Dead Of Night and Queen Of Spades both and a seller was selling that DVD for $350. Those are just some of the more expensive ones i found. If you look around you could probably get one for about $45 to $70 used. So good luck!

Bloody New Year

Bloody New Year an old 80's horror movie, was directed by Norman J. Warren. This was released on DVD October 5, 2004. The VHS of this film is just about as equally hard to find. This DVD is averaging about $80 bucks new on some sites. But you can get it for about $40 new on Amazon from other sellers. And $25 used. So happy hunting!

The House Of The Devil

The House Of The Devil was released on DVD February 2, 2010! It was directed by Ti West and stars Jocelin Donahue. Ti West gives us horror fans a taste of thee old horror days of the 70's and 80's with this flick! It was even released in a special limited edition DVD/VHS bundle! This DVD/VHS combo will be quite a collectors piece! Supposedly there are only 1000 of these bundles made and they are still currently being offered by Amazon! At the time of this posting. I have seen this being sold by sellers on other sites for almost $60 bucks and the highest i have seen so far someone trying to sell it for $99! So whether or not you liked the movie....if you ARE a collector i suggest picking this bundle up while they last. Right now Amazon is selling it for $31.49 and the price went up from $27.99. I got mine for the $27.99. So hurry while they are affordable!!!

Link was released back in 1986, it was directed by Richard Franklin and it stars Elizabeth Shue.
Link was finally released on DVD August 21, 2001. This DVD is out of print and now very expensive to get a hold of. I have seen this going for around $100 new. And between $40 and $60 used. So if you spot this around somewhere be sure to grab it up.

The Beyond Limited Edition Tin

The Beyond, directed by Lucio Fulci was released October 10, 2000. What you want is the Limited Edition Tin of this DVD. Its a great collectors piece. It is an extremely rare release of this DVD. There were only 20,000 of these Limited Edition Tins made. And they are numbered on the back. I saw this going for as much as $150. And i saw it going for about $80 used on another site. Amazon still has sellers selling this for about $50 new. Otherwise, you may be able to get it on there from $20 to $40 from other sellers. If you got the extra bucks, get one! Happy Hunting!

Believe

Believe, directed by Robert Tinnell was released on DVD April 18, 2000. Not sure what it is about this DVD that makes it such a collectible. But i found this being sold for $99 USED on a site. But else where i found it going for a regularly priced DVD. I have found the "DVD" logo on other covers being placed in the right lower corner of the cover. And on this cover it is placed lower left corner. Now i dont know if thats making the difference for some reason or not. Or like i said before its something that hasnt gotten around the horror grape vine yet or what. But i would pick one up for just in case purposes anyway.

UPDATE: I have possibly found out the reason why this DVD is going for so much. This movie was released by Avalanche Home Entertainment and released again by Lions Gate. It appears that its the Avalanche Home Entertainment release that is the collectible and going for so much. Thats all i have found out so far. Updated on April 2, 2010

Bay Of Blood

Bay of Blood released on DVD October 19, 1999. Directed by Mario Bava. It seems to be ranging from $30 to $50 new and used anywhere i have come across this movie. So if you are a Mario Bava fan, id suggest you pick this one up if you have the cash and can find it!

Bats Special Edition

Bats was released on DVD February 22, 2000. It starred Lou Diamond Phillips. Bats was also released as a Special Edition DVD. The Special Edition DVD pictured above is the one you want to get your hands on. I have seen it going for $30 used on one site. Its going for about $20 on Amazon from a couple of sellers at the time of this posting. But i also saw a seller on there selling it for as much as $130 NEW. So like i have said before all collectors vary and some know more then others. So maybe there is something about this DVD that just hasnt made it around the horror movie grape vine yet. I would get it if i spotted it for cheap just in case!

Basket Case 3: The Progeny

Basket Case 3: The Progeny was directed by Frank Henenlotter and starred Kevin Van Hentenryck. Basket Case 3 was released on DVD September 7, 2004. It is now out of print and hard to find. The most i saw this going for was about $75. However you can still pick this up on Amazon from other sellers for about $30 new or $22 used. Look around and you might find one cheaper yet. However most places i looked it fell in the above stated price ranges.

Baron Blood

Baron Blood directed by Mario Bava and starring Joseph Cotten was released on DVD December 7, 1999. This has been on DVD before but the one you want is this 1999 release. It looks just like the picture above. This seems to be averaging about $50 new or used on some sites. However you may be able to score it for $10 to $20 used on other sites.

Bad Dreams

Bad Dreams was released April 8, 1988. It was directed by Andrew Fleming and Starred Jennifer Rubin and Richard Lynch. This was finally released on DVD April 18, 2006. This is out of print now and can be hard to find. I have seen this going for as much as $50. But there are still places offering this for a bit cheaper. The cheapest i have seen this was about $35. So if you have the cash to spare grab one up! If you have it already congrats on that!

Asylum Of The Damned

Asylum of the Damned also known as HELLBORN was released in 2003. It was directed by Philip J. Jones starring Bruce Payne, Tracy Scoggins and Matt Stasi. This was released on DVD on September 21, 2004. I am still investigating this one, so look for updates. I found this used going for about $65. But any where else i checked it was still priced reasonably low as any other DVD would. So im not sure whats got this so high yet. Sometimes not all places are aware of a DVDs collectible status. Which is the BEST time to grab up one before it gets around. So that could be the case here. I will keep a watch out and update when i find something out.

Army Of Darkness (Limited Edition Directors Cut)

Army of Darkness A.K.A Evil Dead 3: Army Of Darkness was directed by Sam Raimi. The DVD Army Of Darkness Limited Edition Directors Cut is another collectible to have from the Evil Dead franchise. The picture above looks pretty much like the cover on the DVD. You can pick this up for as little at $10 to $35 used at some places. I saw this selling at one site for almost $90 used. There was about 5000 of these made, so they are numbered. Getting this in Mint condition will cost you over $100.

Army Of Darkness (Boomstick Edition)

Army Of Darkness released February 19, 1993 was directed by Sam Raimi. Also known as Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness. What you want to get on DVD is the Army Of Darkness (Boomstick Edition). Its a special release of Army Of Darkness and it is OOP now. If you look around you can find one for as little as $17 to $30 used. However one place had it used going for $150. But finding it brand new can be difficult. Finding this little gem in Mint condition will run you around $170 to $200.

Uncle Sam I Want You Dead

Uncle Sam I Want You Dead! This was released on July 4, 1997. Directed by William Lustig. This has been on DVD at least twice that i know of. But what you want is the DVD release by Elite in 1999. The Laser Disc version i have seen is going for about $90. I have spotted this used for many different prices. But getting this NEW is a different story. This is a very RARE hard to find release by Elite. And i have seen this selling for over $300 new. And I'm sure there are collectors selling this for even more then that. Again each collector out there varies and some collectors will pay whatever it takes to get any rare movie etc.

Dawn Of The Dead

Dawn Of The Dead was released September 2, 1978. Directed by George A. Romero. There has been several DVD releases of this movie. The one you really want to get is Dawn of the Dead - The Original Director's Cut (Collector's Edition), as seen in the picture above. I have seen a Laser Disc version of this going for $99. Also, i have seen variable prices for the DVD version. Ranges are any where from $20 used, $60 to $80 new. And some collectors will most likely sell this at a higher price in Mint condition. So if you have it already, good job. If not, look around cause like with any DVD you can find it anywhere they sell used DVDs etc and may get lucky and can pick one up for as little as a few bucks used!
